Cranberry Maple Applesauce

A twist I tried on applesauce. It would be a fantastic recipe for this coming Thanksgiving!

Cranberry Maple Applesauce

Ingredients:

  • 5 Gala apples
  • ½ cup dried cranberries
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup pure maple syrup

Directions:

Peel and core the apples, then chop into small pieces. Add the apples, cranberries and water to a heavy medium saucepan, bring to a boil. Lower the heat to medium-low, cover loosely with a lid and cook for 20 minutes.

Stir in the cinnamon and maple syrup, recover and cook for another 10 minutes.

Take off the heat and mash gently.

Serve warm or chilled.
