Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal

This little guy says “Good Morning!”:

How can you not be in a good mood after seeing that happy face?

We have enjoyed this oatmeal a number of times. It is hearty and satisfying, the apples make the bowl seem even bigger. Perfect for the morning!

Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup apple juice
  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 2 crisp apples, such as Fuji, peeled, cored and diced or shredded
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • ¾ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
  • Pinch of salt
  • ¼ cup raw walnuts, finely chopped

Directions:

Add everything but the walnuts to a large saucepan, bring to a boil. Cook over medium-low for 5 minutes, stirring often. Stir in the walnuts and serve.

Serves 2.
