This is a small recipe for homemade pudding, making the perfect amount for a family of four.
1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
3 Tbsp cornstarch
1 tsp all-purpose flour
pinch of Kosher salt
2 cups 1% dairy milk
1 tsp unsalted butter
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
1/8 tsp real almond extract
Mix the sugar, coco powder, cornstarch, flour and salt in a heavy medium saucepan. Whisk in 1 cup milk till smooth. Whisk in the remaining milk. Cook over medium heat until thickened and beginning to simmer, about 5 minutes (whisking constantly).
Remove from heat, stir in butter and flavorings.
Divide between 4 custard cups and put in refrigrator for at least 2 hours.
