1 cup softened butter (2 sticks)
1 1/2 cups granulated Sugar
1/2 cup instant vanilla chai tea mix
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp cream of tartar
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
Using a stand mixer cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add chai powder and blend in. Add egg and mix in.
In a small bowl, combine dry ingredients. Add dry ingredients to butter mixture. Mix on low speed till well blended and a dough forms.
Preheat oven to 375°F.
Use a disher or teaspoon to make balls, slightly flatten with your palm. Bake for 10-12 minutes, depending on your oven. They should be just turning golden brown but still soft and a tiny bit wet looking on top. Cool on racks.
Makes 5 dozen approximately. The cookies freeze well.
