Homemade Semi-Sweet Chocolate Sauce

I am tinkering on this, with an easy to make chocolate sauce for using in frappes and in desserts. I like the taste, it is very thin though.

Semi-Sweet Chocolate Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp agave nectar (or honey for non-vegan)
  • 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract

Directions:

Add the sugar, cocoa powder and 2/3 cup warm water to a small saucepan, whisk till smooth.  Heat over medium for about 5 minutes until bubbles start coming up. Take off the heat and whisk in the agave and vanilla.

Store tightly covered in the refrigerator.
